Doctors, Ants, and Stupid Memory Cards

Joshua had his one year old check up today. I am happy to report that he is healthy and doing good. He weighed in at 19 pounds and 3 ounces. He has lost a little weight, but with him being as active as he is, that is normal. He is 27 inches tall and is in the 25th percentile height wise. He is still catching up. With him being a month early and being only 5 pounds when he was born, He is turning into such a big boy!

Joshua had to get five shots today and a poke on his finger to test his hemoglobin. He did pretty good. The nurse that gave him his shots needs a lesson on how to put a band-aid on though. After pricking his finger, she totally missed the "hole" when she put the band-aid on. After she gave him his shots, and I picked him up, there was blood all over his hand, all down my arm, and all over my new shirt! I was sooo not amused. We looked like we had gotten in a Major fight or something. I had to hunt down the nurse to get another band-aid and some assistance in cleaning up the mess, because by now, there was blood all over the floor too. It was just ridiculous. Come on people! Do your job right for once!!

After that whole episode, Joseph met us and we went to In-N-Out, which is right next door practically, to get Joshua a grilled cheese sandwich for being so good. Those always seem to cheer him up. And of course, he had to flirt with all the girls. I am convinced that he thinks he has to make a scene no matter where we go.

When we got home, I busted out the hydrogen peroxide to attempt to save my shirt. I have heard that that is the trick to getting out blood stains in clothing. We shall see. The bloody mess is currently in the washing machine.

This morning, before we went to the doctors, I attempted to take some photos and my retarded camera is saying that the memory card won't work. I tried putting the memory card in the photo printer, and it said the same thing. This is just depressing news. I haven't used it since Joshua's birthday and it has just been in the camera, so I totally don't know what the deal is. I will be utterly upset, if I have to go get a new one. Memory cards are not the cheapest things in the world.

And on a another totally depressing thought....We have ants in our kitchen!!! I was hoping that they would at least have the audacity to wait until summer before invading our house, but I guess I am just out of luck. Does any one have any ideas on how to get rid of the pests?! I have tried just about everything. Last year, I even dumped a whole container of Cinnamon on the floor cause I heard ants can't stand the smell and will leave, but....ha ha ha ha! --Don't try THAT at home! They just made a trail right through the mess and it turned into a complete disaster when I tried to clean it up. Cinnamon mud, if you know what I mean. . .I am almost to the point of attempting to ignore them -crazy, I know-- but Joshua goes every which way in this house and the little varmints tend to bite. They bite hard and that is just totally something I don't want to deal with...so, any suggestions would be most appreciated.

That was my day...Just dealing with doctors and band-aid impaired nurses, doing laundry and attempting to calm a cranky little boy who got poked one too many times today... I am totally looking forward to a much happier day tomorrow.

I too do not like Ants, I feel they are a menace to are society. Down with Ants!!!
You would think by now they would be able to administer the immunizations much better, less painful. Maybe I should get on that and the family could be rich.......

I get it at ace. It won't hurt humans as far as I know. My mom always put it out when we were kids. Any hardware store should have it. It's much safer than pesticides. I think I remember using chalk or hearing it worked well too. I didn't get any cute stamps. They were all gone but I got some stamp pads and some really cute paper. Thanks for the comment on my hair. I love it short. So much more work, but so much easier too... does that make since to anyone but me??

I don't know about ants in the house, but if you have ant holes outside just boil a pot of water and pour it down the ant hole. You may have to do it a few times, but the idea is that the water will reach the queen ant and kill her. The boiled water burns the ants to death. Muhahaha!!

How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flown. how did it get so late so soon? -Dr. Seuss
