So today was fun. We bought fruit trees and fishies to put in our newly spiffed up fishie tank. (The fruit trees aren’t going in the fish tank if that is what you were thinking. . .)
We went to H&E to shop for our trees. That is what Joseph wanted to get with his birthday money from his Grandma. They were having some exceptional deals on plants since growing season is nearing. We got a couple of peach trees, a Fuji apple, plum, persimmon, and two grapes. We are really hoping that we can keep all the wildlife around here from eating them before they have a chance to grow. Last year was ridiculous, but this year, we will prevail!
After shopping in Hesperia for trees, Joshua decided we were hungry and treated us to lunch at Del Taco. I was quite amazed to watch Joshua devour a whole bean and cheese burrito all by himself. I think I will stick Joseph on Diaper duty tomorrow! It was quite nice to be able to eat my food with out sharing. That rarely happens when Josh is around.
After our little lunch break, we zoomed over to Wal-Mart to finish up our shopping extravaganza. (Extravaganza Is a fun word to say) Joshua got new shoes after a lengthy debate on what size to get. His shoes that no longer fit are a size two, so being practical, I figured he should now be a size three. That only makes since, right? But, Joe won the debate and we came home with size four shoes since we know Josh will grow and it will save money since there will be one less pair of shoes we will have to buy. Besides, there were not any “cool” shoes that were size three any ways.
After meandering through the aisles of Wal-Mart for a little longer, we found ourselves drawn to the fishie tanks. A couple of weeks ago on another excursion to Wal-Mart to buy dog food, Joshua fell in love with the fish. So, we decided to fix up our tank at home that was sitting in a corner, taking up space, and collecting dust. After a long deliberation on what species to bring home, this is what we decided. We got five ten cent feeder gold fish, one spotted bigger fish and a black fish with really big puffy eyes. AND we did not get any algae eaters this time. Last time we got algae eaters, they ate all of our other fish. Maybe that was because they were from China. I am not sure. Joshua had a lot of fun picking them out, and quite frankly, so did we.
Joshua was excited to get home. He loves to go shopping to see all the crazy funny looking people in the world, but he definitely loves his familiar places too. Joshua and I were rough housing on the floor when he spontaneously started giving me kisses. He thought it was hilarious! They were big wet juicy ones too! This is the first time I have told him to give me a kiss and he knew what to do. He was so proud of himself. I wish I had caught it on tape. Maybe that will be the endeavor I pursue tomorrow.
