Happy Birthday Joshua!!

I can't believe my baby is a year old! It went by way to fast. Joshua is the cutest kid ever I have decided. I just love him to death!

We had fun celebrating his birthday today. I probably went over board a little considering he will probably never remember today, but what is a new mom to do? I've been waiting for today my whole life. My firstborn is only gonna turn one once, ya know.

Joseph's family and the McOwens came and celebrated with us. We had a barbecue, opened gifts and ate cake and ice cream. Joshua was Awesome. He did all the cute things that he always does for us for everyone, and he just enjoyed himself. It was exciting to see him have a good time. Here are some photos of our fun celebration.

Here are my fun decorations

We got these plates and napkins from the 99 cent store. They were way cute, but were pretty flimsy. . .

Joshua kept us entertained while the hamburgers and hot dogs were on the grill. He loves to play the piano.--even when he has to stand on his tip toes to reach the high notes!

And.....Joshua LOVES balloons!! He probably thought that was the best part of the party. He got laughing pretty hard while yanking on the balloon strings.

After we ate, it was time for gifts. Josh kinda got the hang of tearing the wrapping paper open after a while, but he would just rather play with his balloons! Gifts included a fishie tank for his room, "Cars" plate, bowl and cup, a really cool quilt from Grandma Susan, a tie tack and future missionary tag, magnetic letters for the fridge -- which were all over the floor by the end of the night, Graham crackers, diapers, wipes, play keys, cops and robbers stuff, Sunday shoes and socks......and it is late. so if i forgot something, I;ll try to post it later.

And, I couldn't resist. I HAD to get this suit for Joshua when I saw it. It had his name ALL over it. --we even found some black patent leather shoes to go with it. He is gonna be the best looking kid around on sunday. Stay posted for upcoming photos of Joshua in his "birthday suit!"

After opening presents, we ate cup cakes. Joshua didn't quite understand why I was letting him do something I usually scold him for. --but he got over that quickly! He loved it, although, he didn't like his fingers feeling sticky.

After everyone went home, the Rookery called to sing him happy Birthday. Josh loves to talk on the phone, even if he doesn't say much. Maybe it is all the fun buttons to push. They, called, they sang, they got hung up on. Yep. Josh decided they needed singing lessons, I guess.

After all that excitement, it was time for a bath! Joshua got really excited watching me fill up the tub, and even tried to climb in himself!

It was a really fun day. I am still in awe that I am a mom to such an awesome little boy. I am just sad that he won't be little forever.

Megs he is so cute. I was thinking about you all yesterday. I am glad all went well.

How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flown. how did it get so late so soon? -Dr. Seuss
