Provo, Utah. . .& a really long blog!

This last week, we traveled up to Provo so Joseph could attend a Real Estate Seminar. Can I just say, It was so, so nice to get away! I had a blast. Really. We got there late Tuesday night, after a 10 hour drive and stayed at the Marriott (that is where the conference was).

Wednesday, Joseph was in meetings from 9-5, so Joshua and I traveled to Sandy to hang out with my Grandma. SO FUN! We went to lunch at the sizzler and I was quite amazed at how much food Joshua inhaled -a whole piece of watermelon, a full piece of cheese toast, half a blueberry muffin, a bunch of grapes, a handful of olives, a full glass of milk- he was a bottomless pit! I am starting to wonder how we are going to afford to feed him when he's a teenager! After lunch, we we to Walmart to look for some pink crochet thread for Grandma to finish a project she's working on. We didn't find what we were looking for, but found a cute farm book and car for Joshua to play with. He LOVES to read books, and the car makes noise, so of course, he loved that to. Then we drove around the corner to Roberts Crafts. I totally miss that store. My Mom and I used to go there all the time when I lived in St. George. It was heaven! I picked up a couple of scrap booking magazines to keep me occupied at the hotel. By then, it was nearing 4, so Joshua and I headed back to Provo before rush hour.

After Joseph got out of his meeting, we decided to go back up to Sandy to take my Grandma out to dinner. We went to the Mayan, and had a blast. Joshua was mesmerized-he wouldn't even eat his food cause he was so busy watching everything! (They have these big cliff waterfalls inside the restaurant where people dive off the cliffs in the pool below. It's quite impressive, I might say!) It was an enjoyable evening had by all.

Sorry these photos aren't the greatest. It was kinda dark in there!

Thursday, I met up with a friend that I have not really seen since high School. We kind of got back in touch by accident through my brother Scott, who used to play basketball with her husband. We went shopping at the south town mall with our little boys (her son is one or two months older than Joshua). It was pretty fun. Aydan, amberly's son, and Joshua. . . and yes, we were in the restroom.
Later that night after Joe was done with meetings, we went to TGI Fridays for dinner and brought desert back to the hotel room since Joshua was not all that cooperative. I guess he hasn't quite learned how to be good ALL the time yet.

Friday, Joshua and I went and browsed the Provo center Mall for a bit and then headed over to a fun little store called the Quilted Bear. I LOVE THAT STORE! I have never been to one before and I was kind of thinking that it was a fabric store but it turned out to be a craft mall. I got so many fun ideas and I ALMOST spent a ton of money, but after some serious self control, we walked out empty handed except for the massive amount of ideas I have to make some seriously cute things for my house and for Christmas gifts this year. If I lived in the area, I'm sure that I would eventually have my own booth there. After our fun adventures, we met back up with Joseph at the hotel (His meetings got out at 1pm) and we headed up to Holiday to visit with my Grandpa. We went to lunch at Sizzler and then played for a while in the grass in the back yard. Joshua instantly became attached to "Pa Pa" and followed him around everywhere. I miss the days where we only lived two hours away instead of ten. It felt so good to be up there - like a breath of fresh air.

Saturday, we packed up all our stuff and headed home. We drove through a pretty nasty snow blizzard and then got slapped in the face with 90 degree heat when we stopped in st.George to grab a snack. It was pretty weird. We stopped in Vegas to say Hi to my family and ended up spending the night.

It was a fun get away, but it's good to be home. We actually get to head back to Vegas on Thursday to see my little brother get sealed in the Temple to my new sister-in-law. We've been pretty busy! But it feels good to have gotten out of the mundane rituals of everyday life.

Sounds like a great trip! I would love to get into some cooler tempatures for a change. Maybe not drive through a blizzard...just watch one out the window or something.

How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flown. how did it get so late so soon? -Dr. Seuss
